Firearms Permit

A 14 hour class is designed to instruct the security officer in the moral and legal aspects on the use of the firearm while on duty.  This course will not allow the student to carry a concealed weapon.  There is no temporary firearm permit.  Students must wait until a record check has been conducted by the state and federal agencies involved to receive the license.  Must be 21 years of age. 

Fees

  • Course: $150.00- Includes course fee, use of 1 gun, range fee, target, eye protection,ear protection, and 1 box (50 rounds) of ammo.
  • 2nd & 3rd calibers add $10.00 each
  • Additional ammo after 1st box can be purchased at the range or brought from home.

Permit Application Fees

If applying for Firearms Permit only:

If applying for Firearms Permit and Guard Card:

  • Live Scan approx (depending on where you go) $100
  • BSIS Fee $130.00.

What you need to bring:

  • Firearms  (If you are bringing your own, you will need this both days)
  • Picture ID  (California ID)
  • A document for the BSIS application, and our records, that is acceptable (see below).

 Documents are as follows (You need one of the following):

  • U.S. Birth Certificate
  • Military Id
  • Dd-214 Form
  • Current U.S. Passport
  • Certificate Of Naturalization
  • Green Card
